Most of our cats and kittens are rescued off the streets, we do get owner surrender, hoarding situations and shelter rescues also. We have a strict 2 week quarantine for all our cats and kittens entering the Cat Nap. They are all vaccinated, dewormed and flea treated on intake. All vaccines, microchip, spay/neuter, deworming's, and flea treatments are covered by the adoption fee. Once out of quarantine and 8 weeks of age and older they come to the Cat Nap. Any young kittens not fully vaccinated will need to come back to the Cat Nap 1-2 times after adoption to fulfill all their vaccines required by Cat Nap.

What is your return policy and what if my cat gets sick?
We understand there are many factors that come in to play when adopting a new family member. We do our best to prepare you for your new cat but do realize sometimes things dont work out. If for any reason you dont feel the cat you chose is a good fit, we will ALWAYS take back one of our cats. Depending on the reason and upon approval we may offer an exchange. No Refunds sorry.
PLEASE READ IMPORTANT . Although we do our very best to ensure all our kids are healthy at time of adoption, we cannot guarantee that the cat / kitten has not been exposed to potential illnesses while in foster care or at the adoption center or previous situations, eg birth. We as a rescue cannot for-see underlying conditions at time of adoption . We check our cats daily and if we see any obvious sickness they are put in our sick room, We would not send home an obviously sick cat. All our cats are treated as soon as we are aware. Sometimes being in a new environment can cause stress and onset of symptoms post adoption due to stress, diet change etc. We offer a 10 day grace period for basic treatment of sickness that may arise ( upper respiratory) (fleas- ringworm, diarrhea) anything Potentially congenital is at owners expense as we can not for-see conditions, at such time it will be owners sole responsibility During the 10 days grace period We will take care of the medical through our partner Veterinarian Sunstone animal hospital only. We do not reimburse vet bills for another veterinarian. IF you feel your kitty is not well please let the Cat Nap know immediately. This is stated in the adoption contract also.
Why dont rescues- test cats for different things?
Good question! as a non profit rescue we rely solely on the adoption fee and donations to cover the vetting, The adoption fee as it stands doesnt even cover the basic veterinary care provided for all our adoptable cats and kittens. - Hence NON PROFIT.
Some of our cats have very expensive procedures, surgeries, hospitalizations before they are even ready for adoption. which is completely reliant on donations as well
If you take in consideration the cost of all the vaccines, de wormings, microchip, spay neuter, flea treatment ,and testing with the vet visits we provide as a basic healthy start to all our cats, its well over the adoption fee and if you were to pay this out of pocket to your veterinarian it will be alot more expensive.
IF we were to test them for all the viruses and potential diseases a cat can be exposed to or get, the adoption fee would be well over 500.00 to cover the expense. Alot of our tests are done on a, as needed basis,- if we see symptoms, but not as a general preventative rule.
Do you take owner surrender Cats?
Yes in most cases we will depending on case by case, a surrender form is required and information about your cat you want to surrender is vital, please send us an email with the following information if you need to place your kitty. WE ARNT ALWAYS ABLE TO TAKE CATS AND KITTENS WE HAVE TO MAINTAIN A CERTAIN NUMBER OF CATS AT OUR LOCATION AND WE REQUIRE VACCINE AND QURANTINE PROTOCOLS BEFORE THEY CAN COME INTO THE LOUNGE.. Owner surrender cats don't always do well in this environment, scared or shy cats by nature, even the most outgoing cats can have a really hard time adapting to new environments. Stress alone can cause a once healthy happy cat to decline very quickly. Cat Nap is a busy place with people and alot of cats daily. Some cats get so overwhelmed they may stop eating and there immune system crashes, We really suggest if you are in the position to please try every other avenue first family or friend to take on your cat, DO NOT take to shelter most likely will be euthanized We get over 100 requests weekly of people needing to rehome there cat so please understand we cant always help even though we really wish we could.
.
Photo, age, sex, fixed status, personality, vaccines history, Reason for surrender!
Due to the fact that most surrender cats are older in age, and may take some time to place in a new home, we ask if we accept your kitty into Cat Nap that you help us by sponsoring your kitty by donating toward there care for the next several months to help towards vet care, food etc.
Do you take cats/ kittens that we found ?
Yes we will do our best to help any kitty in need, although depending on factors and space at our lounge, please send us any information you have on the kitty. We have strict entry protocol for strays including , chip scan, vaccines and quarantine, If we are at capacity, we may ask you to bring in for a vaccination and then to foster for two weeks before we can have kitty enter lounge. Please call or email for more information if you find a cat or kitten that needs help.
Depending on space we may not be able to take on anymore. We do not take feral cats unfortunately we just dont have the means or space, We get over 100 requests a week of cats and kittens in need unfortunately we cant save them all even though we wish we could.
IF you find infant kittens please leave where they are and watch for mom to come back. She often leaves to feed and will most likely return. If its been a few hours please take babies inside heating blanket and bottle feed. Please look up links on google on how to do this. Rescues are very overwhelmed with bottle babies and dont always have fosters available, if you are able to help with the process its helps saves lives.
